- Chris tells Maggie he'll visit his sister shortly, but he doesn't come. Carolyn goes to confront him, not knowing he has turned into a werewolf. Meanwhile, Elizabeth lies paralyzed in her coffin, psychically trying to warn Carolyn.
- At Chris's cottage, Maggie is tells Chris that Amy is ill and wants to see him. Chris tries to get rid of Maggie and promises to come to visit Amy shortly. Back at the great house, Carolyn and Maggie agree that Chris is acting strangely and rudely. He does not seem very concerned about his sister.
Carolyn tells Maggie that Amy has made a suspiciously miraculous recovery from her fainting spell. She suspects the children are up to something. They were strangely upset when they found out Maggie instead of Carolyn went to Chris's cottage. Carolyn announces that she is going to her mother's tomb, which she has been doing every day. Maggie suggests that Carolyn has not accepted her mother's death, which Carolyn admits is true.
Chris turns into a werewolf and wrecks the cottage before going outdoors. Carolyn visits Elizabeth's tomb and cannot shake the feeling that her mother is somehow still alive. Elizabeth, paralyzed inside her coffin, wishes she could move or speak to let her daughter know that she is alive. She also senses that Carolyn is in danger if she goes outside and wishes she would stay at the tomb.
Maggie confronts David and Amy about their sneakiness and Amy's fake illness. The Children deny, evade, and claim nothing is going on. Carolyn comes back from the mausoleum and is incensed that Chris still has not come to see Amy. Throughout, the werewolf prowls the grounds.
Since it is late and Chris is obviously not coming, Maggie puts the children to bed. Carolyn tires of waiting and has Maggie call Chris. No answer. Carolyn goes to see what is keeping Chris. Elizabeth continues to sense that Carolyn is in danger. David catches Amy trying to sneak out. He accuses her of interfering with Quentin's plans by rescuing Carolyn.
Carolyn finds the cottage in a shambles and the door wide open, but there is no trace of Chris. Walking through the woods, Carolyn finally receives her mother's telepathic warning of danger. Not far away, the werewolf approaches.
