Plenty going on
Leofwine_draca7 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 353 sees Barnabas at his most belligerent as he sets various new plans into action. Victoria is the clueless victim once more, but at least some other characters are beginning to become wise to Carolyn's change of attitude. Plenty going on here to keep your mind occupied.

Has Julia just signed her own death certificate?

Warning: Spoilers
It's two middles playing against two ends with Julia and Carolyn now seemingly unspoken rivals as Julia schemes against Victoria and Barnabas and Carolyn is possibly the cause for her schemes being revealed, asked by Barnabas in the conclusion to follow Julia everywhere she goes. Victoria is reluctant to go to the old house and Carolyn suspects that Julia had something to do with that, later telling Barnabas about the walk that Victoria and Julia took. Julia and Barnabas were earlier having a conversation when Carolyn came in and Barnabas dismisses Julia, something that Julia can't accept. Somehow she knows that her machination could come to light and be her entrance Into darkness.

Slowly but surely, the show is moving into very dark territory as some very serious plot developments are moving the story along. It's also good to see the show back in color after a few black and white prints as the details of these pastels work well with the gothic Intrigue surrounding it. Nobody is melodramatic in this episode. They just speak as humans would in conversation without getting over emotional, but you can bet your bottom vampire gang that for Julia, her emotions will be rising in episodes to come.
