Edgy

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 346 offers edginess and hissy fits a-plenty as Julia and Victoria square up to being rivals. Not particularly fair when the latter is desperately grieving for her lost love. Barnabas is as unpleasantly nasty as ever here, but it's interesting to see Julia seemingly heading for a nervous breakdown.

How can I be a bride if he's dead?

Warning: Spoilers
That line reminded me of the often repeated Todd Slaughter line, "You want to be a bride my dear? You shall be! A bride of death!" Certainly Barnabas isn't as dark in many ways as Todd Slaughter's earthly villains were, but he comes close. For some reason, Victoria is in her bridal veil in the opening scene, and Barnabas compliments her on how beautiful she is. Julia says that all brides are beautiful and Barnabas hysterically dismisses her, telling her to leave. For some reason, Barnabas disappears from the scene with Victoria, and Carolyn finds her sleeping on the couch. Carolyn doesn't seem too broken up by Burke's death, funny considering that they dated, although she is a supportive friend to Victoria.

"Josette is dead and buried. Why can't she stay that way?" Julia ponders to the voiceover of portrayer Grayson Hall who hears voices everywhere she goes and does I seem to be going a little batty herself. Obviously her conscience is getting to her, and she walks around the gothic room scrraming out to whatever spirit is in Josette's room. Julia makes a huge mistake of snapping at Victoria which results in a dark confrontation with Barnabas. It's a very campy episode as Barnabas confronts Julia over her delusions of what their relationship is, and then Revelations concerning the flowers Julia brought Victoria adds more twists. One thing about Barnabas that is upsetting his about how he is always lurking behind people, and I can certainly understand Julia's reaction to that. His rushing her to complete her experiments certainly could result in disaster!
