Ordered by Separatist leader Count Dooku defend San Hill and his staff of accountants during the Republic's assault on the bankers world of Muunilinst, legendary Bounty Hunter Durge has been waging a counter attack since Chapter 4. Together with his IG lancer droids (provided by the InterGalactic Banking Clan) Durge has all but destroyed the Republic Forces' SPHA-T's (Self-Propelled Heavy Artillery Turbolaser) or 'our cannons' as one of General Kenobi's faceless troopers refers to them. But two can play at that game. Obi-Wan Kenobi orders his troops to mount their own speeder bikes and leads the charge wearing modified clone armor fit for a general. The two forces meet each other head on, and soon pieces of Hailfire Droids and shadowy black IG droids are flying through the air like the scrap metal they are. Then the fearless General faces off against the mighty Durge himself. The first blow is for the D-man and his Death's Head speeder, as Obi-Wan loses his lance and helmet. The Jedi Master retaliates by whipping out his trusty crystal blue light saber and slicing up both Durge's lance and his ride's steering vanes on the next pass. They don't call him 'The Negotiator' for nothing. The Death's Head explodes, ejecting it's rider into the air.
Appearing out of the flames of the wreckage, Durge grabs Kenobi's speeder by the steering vanes as the Jedi charges him a third time and sends the republic hero flying through the air. Kenobi, known to use 'Ataru', the fourth form of light saber combat in his Padawan days, has taken up form three, 'Soresu' after attaining the rank of Jedi Knight and uses both to break his fall. Impressively combining 'Ton Su Ma' flips through the air with the spinning 'Jung Su Ma' style (thats a good trick) and turning around on a single 'Jung', the young knight manages to land on his feet facing the enemy. By this time the opponent in question is already charging Qui-Gon's apprentice, carrying the damaged Republic speeder above his head. Sensing that the time for negotiations has long since past, the Jedi Knight slices the bike in twain and with a third stroke, stabs his assailant right through the chest with a 'Shiak' maneuver. Normally a Jedi would only use a drastic move such as this against non living opponents such as droids, but as Durge's Gen'Dai physiology is shrouded in mystery, it is allowed at this time. After a brief pause that in the heat of battle must have seemed to be a Yoda's lifetime, the legend known as Durge begins laughing, both maniacal and mechanical, in Kenobi's face, then pummeling the same with his fists while the blue crystal saber remains lodged within his very frame!
The good General hits the ground and recovers just in time to put up the matrix of a 'Force' field to shield himself from the Bounty Hunter's deadly darts shooting from his right wrist as well as a flame attack from his left mounted flame thrower. Thank the maker that the Force is on Kenobi's side, as he manages to force crunch the Hunter's lighter ('Sun Djem', damage weapon). Not to be outdone, the big D. counters by whipping out his spiked flail at the same time Kenobi Force retrieves his personal life line, his Jedi weapon. At the last moment Obi manages to cut the chain in half and with another broad stroke, this movement is repeated as Durge draws his twin blasters (two more 'Sun Djem' for the Jedi). The armored menace manages to parry the General's more civilized weapon with his forearm mounted energy shields for a while. However, a persistent Kenobi, who seems to be dangerously close to slipping into Dark Side territory, finally drives back his nemesis far enough to 'Cho Sun' (dismember) the Gen'Dai warrior's right arm, and 'Sai Tok' (disect) him at the waist. Ever a gentlemen, the noble Jedi would never stoop as low as to hit an opponent below the belt. Kenobi enthusiasts will recognize the similarities between this outcome and that from his famous fight against Sith Lord Maul, the fight that earned him the title of Jedi Knight in the first place.
At last the mighty Durge is down for the count. Never one to rest after a victory, Kenobi receives a message from Alpha-Class ARC Trooper Captain Fordo (Alpha-77), finds an undamaged Republic Speeder bike and immediately leaves for the headquarters of the IG Banking Clan. However, one thing the Gen'Dai species is known for is their remarkable healing factor, which appears to 'kick in' the moment Kenobi is out of sight...
