It's You or the Mob...
LTPHarry14 July 2021
1 Vs. 100 is as mention, one of Endemol's dutch formats, similar to the just-as-good Deal or No Deal and the dradful-tastic BrainTeaser. This UK version is a tie-in to the UK National Lottery but other than that there's very little connection other than it hosted the Lottery Draws in-between.

So, the concept? There's a mob of 100 contestants, each worth £1,000. One of them is selected, and must attempt to beat 'em all by answering multiple-choice general knowledge questions to win loads of money. However, the catch is that if you answer wrong, you're done for with no money whatsoever and someone else from the mob will take your place, attempting to beat them all again. If you bail out, you win with the banked money, but If you beat the entire mob, you are won with whatever money is left in the bank alongside the £50,000.

Now, onto other gameplay features. The show also has some power-ups. The first ones are Dodges which can be used if you don't know the question but slashes your money in half. The other is a double, which must be used wisely to double money, maybe up to £250,000 if you're lucky, the same top prize you can win in Deal or No Deal.

Next up, the presenter. The UK version has seen two different ones, the first was Dermot O'Leary, who presented the first two series, and was pretty neat. The other was Ben Shephard, who presented the last two, and as you may know now as the host of Tipping Point, another game show I reviewed.

As for flaws, well I can't really say otherwise apart from some dumb contestants but that's to be expected as it's a game show.

Overall, this is a pretty cool game show that doesn't risk to be serious.
