Matthew thanks David for his assistance during his time hiding out in the old house, and perhaps he should rethink the words, "I'll never forget you as long as I live." It's only because of David that Matthew now suspect that there are ghosts in the old house, and that is setting up the last week of his episodes on screen. Thayer David is commanding as Matthew taunts the captive Victoria over trying to get David's attention, and with him leaning over her with his imposing presence that adds additional horror to her situation.
The episode becomes particularly chilling in the last 10 minutes when Matthew, attempting to sleep, begins to hear spooky female voices and confronts Victoria over trying to haunt him. It is obvious that this is the beginning of the end, and Thayer David rises to the occasion to make his last scenes chilling. This really does begin to emulate a gothic old dark house type Thriller, and makes it one with the capability of giving the viewers goosebumps. When one of the voices identifies itself as Josette Collins, it's a look into the future of the series, and one that truly stands out.
