David Collins has scenes with three powerful characters in this episode, starting with Matthew whom he manages to fool by bringing him cigarettes (after hearing Victoria trying to get his attention), Mrs. Johnson ( who accuses him of stealing her cigarettes and even checked his hand to see if his fingers are yellow) and Elizabeth home he pesters while she's trying to work after being visited by Sheriff Patterson. Matthew, having let David get away, is obviously suspicious of him, and for the last few minutes of the episode, suspiciously manhandled him. David, having questions the sheriff, Phil's Matthew in, but is he really trying to set up Matthew to be caught?
Another great episode for David Hennessy, two in a row, has him quite capable of working with the vets, and he really holds his own. David begins to get worried over being Matthew's accomplice, so that's another possibility for future betrayals. Even though Hennessy dominates the episode, each of the supporting actors in this episode gets Great Moments even though it's obvious to them that they are not the focus. It truly remains one of the show's best early episodes.
