Another decent episode which moves the plot forward swiftly. David has done a runner while more become aware of his crime. Meanwhile, Burke's full intentions are now revealed as he meets with a man in Bangor and it transpires that he wants to bring down the whole Collin family. This is the kind of reward that viewers who stuck with the slow-moving earlier episodes have been waiting for.

While Liz looks for David in Collinwood's closed off West Wing and basement, Vicki (Alexandra Moltke) tells Carolyn (Nancy Barrett) she's certain David tried to kill his father. Carolyn finds the Mechano Magazine explaining how to remove a master brake cylinder's "bleeder valve" in Vicki's possession. In denial, Liz asks, "Couldn't it be something he picked up and saved the way boys save rocks?" Drinking heavily at the Bangor Pine Hotel, Burke meets with investigator Barnard Hughes (as Stuart Bronson), in his only "Dark Shadows" appearance...
