Paternity
Prismark105 July 2016
XX is a short film directed by Chilean filmmaker Cristián Jiménez. It achieved success in several film festivals where it was described as an urban comedy about paternity. The short film features actors Nicolás Saavedra and Ingrid Isensee and also has the director in a small role.

Julio is a modern man who shortly before his 29th birthday desires to be a father. The problem is that he needs to find someone who is willing to become pregnant and is in pursuit of fatherhood.

This is a Spanish language film with the usual moody black and white scenes although the fashion and some of the scenes give it a kind of a sullen feel. There is a nice scene set in the zoo near the end as he takes Cristina and a boy to the zoo imagining what it is like to be a father but the boy runs to his father when her ex turns up to meet him.
