The title is one of the nicknames for the "The U.S. Air Force", the official song of the United States Air Force. The song was first used for the Army Air Corps Song. Captain Robert MacArthur Crawford wrote the lyrics and music in 1939 and it was used throughout World War II. When the Air Force was formed as a separate service in 1947, the words "U.S. Air Force" in the lyrics replaced the original "Army Air Corps". In 1979, it was adopted it as the official song for the U.S. Air Force.
