To put it very simply, between the opening and the fight, this episode is amazing. Not only is it a battle between brothers over the fate of the world, but a personal battle over two different philosophies. Not only that but thematically this episode is nearly perfect. The writing, plot-wise and dialogue-wise keeps you on your toes. From the six bullets in Vash's gun, the cross, and even where each shot is placed. The voice actors pull off their lines exceptionally, Knives' VA standing out in particular. His screams and wails to Vash give me chills everytime I watch and the lack of dialogue in the second half is brilliant in building tension and anticipation in the audience. Vash's choice to forge his own path and abandoning his red coat also stuck out to me. Every element is used to its utmost in this episode and it goes without saying that it is the best or one of the best episodes in this series.
