Teen Truth: Bully Is A Must See For Any Teen, Parent Or Teacher
emrob_9917 January 2007
As a teacher, I am always looking for films that can effectively entertain, educate and inspire discussion in my students. Teen Truth: Bully is one of the most effective educational films that I have ever come across in my eight year career of teaching. My students were glued to the screen throughout the film and you could hear a pin drop during the moving columbine section.

Shot almost entirely by students, Teen Truth: Bully provides food for thought at a level that other students can relate to. Many educational videos I have viewed are preachy and boring and can barely keep the attention of a quarter of the students in class. Teen Truth: Bully, made my students think about how their own bullying and actions impact each other and inspired discussion way passed the bell ring.

I don't understand why anyone would give Teen Truth: Bully less than a 10 rating. I imagine those people have lost site of what it is like to be a teenager and don't understand the true intention of this film. I look forward to the release of Teen Truth: Drugs.

Big Impact.

I am teacher from a Middle School in Stockton, California and we recently showed the Teen Truth: Bully film to 850 seventh and eighth graders. This is a powerful film that has our whole faculty and student body buzzing and is something that every student and teacher should see.

Created with the help of teens, it focuses on all of the everyday stressful issues that confront teenagers and how these issues can build to a violent reaction if they are not addressed. Too often psychologists and by-the-book experts try to over analyze the reasons why these violent acts happen when the answer is in our youth. We just need to listen. Teen Truth asks the hard questions and the teens rise to the occasion and tell the truth.

In addition to raising the issues, Teen Truth: Bully provides a realistic result of what might happen if the pressing issues are not resolved. Experienced educators, counselors and a psychologist validate the candid student responses and provide effective solutions to helping students cope with their problems.

We completed surveys after the film and our students rated this film a 10 out of a possibly 10. So I am writing this review for my class and give Teen Truth a 10. Thank you for making this film.

it's about time...

This doc is a must see for anyone interested in the school violence occurring too frequently in our country. finally, a movie that gives the kids themselves a voice. I've grown so tired of the typical adult analysis. It's about time those dealing with the issues speak for themselves and reveal the problems that lead to such mindless acts of assault. If only this movie had been made ten years ago, perhaps the trend of school violence could have been addressed and controlled before it reached the levels we see today. I was truly moved by this film and hope others will check it out! If you're a teenager, a parent, a teacher, or a concerned uncle, take the time to view this short film! It'll open your eyes.

Everyone needs to watch this film!

After working with troubled teens in a high school in south Stockton, CA, I saw first hand, the life that these kids had to deal with. I was surprised they even made it to school in the morning! I wish that I had this film to show to all of the kids that I worked with, because it truly is a real-life portrayal of what teens have to go through, day in and day out. Teachers, parents, administrators, counselors and social workers NEED to see this film. It might help in understanding and listening to our teens, and not always putting them to blame. Everyone across the nation should see this film! I highly recommend this film; it is definitely a must-see!!

Amazing and Powerful

Warning: Spoilers
This film is amazing.... It made me cry. I loved it. Everyone should see this. In 22 minutes, a powerful message is sent. Being a teen is so difficult and having an outlet for the teens is something that is not often come upon. I work with a lot of young people and have showed it to as many of them as possible. Each time I get the same reaction: stunned silence. You can really tell that the message hits home with them, as well as it does with adults. The actual footage of Columbine was a punch in the stomach, especially to several pre-teens who have watched it and were too young to remember the Columbine horror(and actually didn't know too much about it).
