The Black Island (Part 2)

Warning: Spoilers
Tintin manages to capture Müller and his chauffeur Ivan and discover their counterfeit set-up, but they get loose and Tintin is hot on their trail. This leads Tintin to Scotland and in a pub he learns from the locals about an haunted island that is home of a beast. Whoever goes there, doesn't come back. He buys a boat and heads there, and finds out the beast is nothing more then a gorilla, which is used to scare of visitors as Puschov and Müller runs the counterfeit hideout.

"The Black Island" is Herge's seventh comic strip album and the eleventh episode (part 2 of 2) of Season 1. The second part of the episode really does pick up the energy levels, after Tintin has discovered their plans. It goes on to be a chase set-up with non-stop thrills and clever slants, which eventually leads Tintin to Scotland. He gets dressed up for the occasion too, with the traditional Scottish attire. When he heads to the island (despite town's superstitious warnings), it manages to cook up a atmospheric air from it humming music score. The encounters are pretty exciting, especially when he comes face to face with the black beast that roams the rocky island. This dark side falls a little more on the serious side than most of the stories, but there's enough slapstick by the Thompsons to tickle your fancy. The characters might not be the main focus, but keeping on the boil makes "The Black Island" quite an enchanting, dynamic and vivid Tintin adventure.

I like the character Ivan. He doesn't play a big role but he does it well
