This Argentine-Spanish collaboration was shown recently on a cable channel. As much as one wants to be positive about any film, and the effort that went behind it, it appears this was a doomed project from the start. Conceived and co-written by its director, Ramon Costafreda, the movie does not go anywhere because the inane treatment it gets. It is surprising that Fernando Castets, a man that has collaborated with Juan Jose Campanella, had not learned anything working with a talented creator.
We are asked to believe that Valeria, the young Argentine woman, that finds her lover dead in bed, can even contemplate getting involved with the son of the person inside the urn she displays prominently in her apartment. Perhaps the people behind the film wanted to make a statement about the new reality in Argentina, where poor Spaniards came to the South American country, and now it is a reverse immigration.
The acting is poor, at best. The only one that fares better is Maria Bouzas, the hairdresser that tries to be kind to Valeria.
