I fully agree with Krazy - the show as a whole seems to favour 1 or 2 dogs/owners and that seems to have filtered through into the disciplines. I noticed the dog walk on the Newcastle heat was on barrels instead of at head height like the other 3 heats, there may well have been a reason but none was given. The scent work for heat 3 and 4 was a whole lot easier than 1 and 2 but I had to laugh when the dogs wouldn't play fetch and wanted to attack the farm yard animals instead.
Fully enjoyed the 1st semi final and think the large gentleman with the foul mouth should have been disqualified for lack of sporting behaviour, I can't believe he actually thought his performance was good enough in any of the disciplines to speak to any of the judges in the manner portrayed.
Looking at the remaining dogs I can't see how the lab/collie cross won't go thru but the last finalist could be one of 3.....as none of them really shone as 'contenders' Would love to know where Ch4 got the contestants and was the requirement based on OK your a nut with a dog - your in, you seem quite aloof - your in, you seem fairly normal with an interfering husband who's slightly amusing - your in and the hippy woman was just made for pointing and laughing at. If my memory serves me right we also had random old person with a replacement husband - reg, a woman who had far too much time on her hands so took it out on her poodle and of course the token homosexual who may I add is camper than a row of tents. Great selection process but I kinda hope they were picked for the dogs with the owners being a bonus rather than the other way round.
Judges - fantastic... Jo and Donelda are something else and seem to be masters of their work, Colin - not seen much of his 'expertise' as yet but my wife said he reminds he of a camp-er simon cowell...
Personally I'm going for normality and hope the blonde with the gorgeous looking black lab wins - (just hope we see more of them as coverage seems to have been sparse in comparison with the fat bloke.....) or am I cheating as I already know 2 of the 4 in the final and they have won both the heat and semi by a mile? The final will be a must see!!
