Originally Jhonen and the crew tried to get Monty Python members John Cleese and Eric Idle to voice the abductors. When John Cleese declined the offer, efforts were sought for fellow Monty Python, Terry Jones instead. However, both Eric and Terry were out of the country and unable to come in.
The blob creature appears to have an issue of Johnen Vasquez's Johnny the Homicidal Maniac "fused" to it by the alien abductors.
The voices for the Abductors was originally performed by Eric Trueheart and Paul Greenberg as placeholders, but takes were also done of Brian George and Jim Wise doing the roles. Originally they planned to air the Brian and Jim dubs in the final product, but due to an audio mix up, the Eric and Paul dub premiered instead, with Brian and Jim still receiving credit.
Turkeyneck's claim that children are always after his lucky neck meats is a reference to the Lucky Charms brand of cereal, in which the leprechaun mascot for Lucky Charms claims children are always after his 'lucky charms'.
