Meaningful movie for people in despair or know those who are in despair

Warning: Spoilers
Whoever wrote the summary for this film on IMDb said it wrong when s/he said the homeless woman was helped by the grace of another woman. It was by the Grace of God, though God used Angela to help her. Angela first sees Lauren situated on a sidewalk and coughing a lot. She goes and introduces herself to her and gives her cough drops, and the next morning takes her breakfast and also leaves Lauren her cell number. Next thing she is being called by the hospital where Lauren has been admitted. Turns out she has HIV and only 1-5 years to live.

Angela takes her home and gets to know her better and her tragic story of losing her family, a loving husband and two young children, in a freak accident. The rug was pulled out from under her, and she was left with an empty home and nothing but memories and grief. Thus began her downhill spiral, including being beaten and raped by a new boss. She was too proud to go back to her parents and had no one to turn to and just ended up on the streets and eventually doing drugs as well. She tells Angela her story, but is ashamed and disappears. Angela seeks her out and encourages her to face her past and learn to live with it and turn her life around. Angela is being a real friend, and takes her home with her again.

I think this is a helpful film in that is shows how we can help others without making them feel judged, using "honey rather than vinegar." And Angela is showing a great example of how to be a good Samaritan.

As a Christian I liked this film, but would have liked it much better had it not had the ending "in heaven" because I don't believe we really know how heaven is going to be.

It is clearly an independent film and low budget, but I think the acting is good.

Seasons of Life

I loved this movie. It was very inspiring and heartfelt. All of the cast members did a great job. I must admit - I cried my eyes out while watching it.

Life is so short, we really have to help people where we can and when we can. God has us here for a purpose and a reason, and we shouldn't waste what precious time we have left.

I lost my Mom a couple of years back to Diabetes, and seeing "Lauren" in the hospital bed like that brought back a lot of memories.

There are so many people out there that are facing challenges like this, that's why we need to help when we can.

Seasons of Life is a very touching and inspiring movie. It is a modern-day retelling of the story of the Good Samaritan. The plot begins when Angela Washington befriends a woman who's been living on the street. Angela takes this woman, Lauren into her home and as the plot unfolds, they become friends and Lauren shares with Angela the circumstances that brought her to the life she had been living on the street. Lauren had a "perfect" life with a wonderful husband and two precious children before the tragic death of her entire family sent her into post-tragedy depression. She eventually ended up at the very bottom of society, until she meets Angela. The movie isn't preachy at all, but it's one of those movies where you get the point. I really enjoyed watching it; it was a nice to see a movie where crime and violence weren't present, as in so many other movies out there.
