Austin filmmaker Dano Johnson along with producers Jeffrey Travis and Seth Caplan are the inventors behind the animated family-friendly film Flatland 2: Sphereland. It's a follow-up to Flatland: The Movie -- both take kids on journeys into alternate dimensions with heroine Hex (Kristen Bell) and her trusty and mathematically inclined sidekick Puncto (voiced by Danny Pudi). Based on Edwin A. Abbott's Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions, these movies tell the stories of dwellers who live in a two-dimensional world with no knowledge or interest in dimensions behond their own.
In Flatland 2: Sphereland, young scientist Hex encounters more mathematical mysteries as she and her sidekick race to save a mission into Flatland's "outer space" and discover the true shape of the universe. Because Flatland exists in a world where the only dimensions known are length and width, Hex's felllow inhabitants don't believe of the existence of a third dimension.

Back at the beginning of October, we brought you the news that Emma Stone (Easy A, Zombieland) was cast as Gwen Stacy in the Marc Webb directed Spider-Man reboot. Just two weeks later we found out that Rhys Ifans (Anonymous) had signed on to play the villain in the film, and while it was reported that the villain in question would be The Lizard, that has still not been confirmed by the studio.
Just last week, a rumor hit the web that John Slattery (Iron Man 2, Mad Men) and Sam Elliot (Ghost Rider, Tombstone) were at the top of the contenders list to play Peter Parker’s boss at The Daily Bugle, J. Jonah Jameson. Again, nothing has been confirmed by the studio.
Now, THR is reporting that Martin Sheen (Flatland) is in final talks to portray Ben Parker in the Untitled Spider-Man Reboot, and Sally Field (Brothers & Sisters...

While I was shopping around CDbaby, I came across the music of Flatland, an animated feature starring triangles, squares and circles. Further investigation about this music lead me to its composer, Kazimir Boyle who had some interesting project on his résumé. After a string of projects on which he worked at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions (Hannibal, Spirit), Boyle had now set up his own company named Flash Music LLC. where he produces music that's as colourful and imaginative as the delightful Flatland score.
What made you fascinated with music when you were a child?
Like many children, I started with music in the school band. I chose the trumpet but the band director assigned me the trombone. I was fascinated that I could play louder than anyone else.
Do you have any distinctive memories about film music?
Sure - we had all of the Star Wars albums on...
