A salute to a great Spanish actor
mankell3 May 2008
This is a wonderful , warm hearted document of a Spanish actor. Looking at his CV makes you aware of the greatness of this man, once a favourite of so many outstanding directors like Sergio Leone, Sergio Sollima etc, but now almost forgotten. He has worked in over 150 films and this is a film about him, an aging actor who is waiting just for one more phone call, one more participation in a film and in this waiting game he is reminiscing in his past, flashes of film scenes of times gone by . Aldo Sanbrell is a proud actor, an aristocrat among the Spanish actors. This short film a testament of his colourful life in films, in particular between 1965 - 1977. He now lives in Alicante, a coastal town in Spain, with his wife.
