Linc fakes being psycho to infiltrate a mental hospital where a panicked buddy had called him from right before his death.

Pete gets on the inside as an orderly and Julie has a small part as a social worker/nurse. We're never sure if Linc's medications are making him psychotic for real or not, so it gets a little confusing at times. There are lots of interesting camera angles and direction in the scenes where Linc is having meltdowns.

This is one of Meg Foster's earliest roles, playing the mute patient Cora whom Linc attempts to befriend. We see brief traumatic flashbacks that indicate she had been physically assaulted, but this isn't developed enough. She will have a bigger part in one of Season 4's best "Death of a Nobody".

Richard Kiley is good as the stern, corrupt administrator who gets his in a most fitting way by episode's end.

Linc in an asylum.

This episode was a showcase for the talent of Clarence Williams lll. He showed his skills at expressing a variety of emotions. The only mistake in the episode was a technical goof. Inmates in a mental hospital have all their valuables locked away. So how did Linc's friend end up with change in his pocket to call Linc on the phone? Otherwise a great episode.
