Quotes
-
Nancy Olson : [studying hard] Sue Ann, can you fill me in on the Louisiana Purchase?
Sue Ann Weaver : Oh, sure. The Louisiana territory was purchased on April 30th, 1803, at a cost of almost sixteen million dollars.
Cindy Webster : Wow, that's a lot of money.
Blair Warner : [has wealthy parents] They probably just charged it.
Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey : [bursting in] I have a secret that none of us is supposed to know.
Cindy Webster : What is it, Tootie?
Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey : I know who the smartest girl in the school is.
Nancy Olson : Wait a minute, that's no secret. Everyone knows it's Sue Ann.
Sue Ann Weaver : Oh, not necessarily, Nancy.
Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey : Sue Ann's right. It's not her.
Sue Ann Weaver : [totally down] See? Didn't I tell you? Who is the smartest?
Blair Warner : Well, it couldn't be me.
[all conceited because of her good looks:]
Blair Warner : I've got too many other things going for me.
[her fingers brushing through her blonde hair]
Dorothy 'Tootie' Ramsey : [gleefully] You're right, Blair. It's not you either.
-
Blair Warner : [tray stacked with confectionery] Now I can study for midterms. I've got my energy food.
-
Blair Warner : Great. My IQ's higher than my waist.
Molly Parker : [reads list] I can't believe it! Sue Ann has the lowest IQ on the list!
Sue Ann Weaver : [grabs list from Molly] May I see it?
[looks]
Sue Ann Weaver : Congratulations, Nancy, on being so smart.
Nancy Olson : Sue Ann, it's not that big a deal.
Sue Ann Weaver : That's easy for you to say.
Molly Parker : Sue Ann, don't be upset because you're the dumbest girl in school. I have a friend whose brother has an even lower IQ than you, and he got all the way through junior college, and now he's the most successful dog-catcher in all of Florence, New Jersey.
Sue Ann Weaver : Thanks. Maybe I can work my way up to being manager of a lemonade stand.
-
Nancy Olson : I'd be lucky if I passed this test myself! Go to Sue Ann, she knows everything.
Blair Warner : When I want help, I go to the best, and... that's you.
Nancy Olson : I don't care what my IQ is. I don't want to be the smartest girl in school!
Blair Warner : You should be proud to be Number One.
Nancy Olson : I liked it better before when Sue Ann was Number One, and everyone went to her for assistance. Now everyone's coming to me, and I can't take the pressure. Blair, will you please leave so that I can study?
Blair Warner : Well, you don't see me getting all upset when people tell me how gorgeous I am.
