Great series
alex-esp7 June 2007
I have seen it since April 2007 (it was released at the beginning of 2007 in Spain) and I have never quited. Performances are very good, they have casted actors from many different countries and the most of them are very attractive.

Besides, the series is getting to the interesting part of the story. I won't write exactly where, so I don't spoil the story.

As for the plot: Trinidad, a little town in South America. Alicia Guardiola has been released from prison, where she has passed 7 years for a crime she didn't commit, kidnapping and killing her husband Amador Blanco. During this time, her two twin sons (Felipe and Duván) live with Alicia's mother-in-law, Perfecta Albarracín (known in Trinidad as Doña Perfecta), and her brother-in-law Sebastián Blanco. She returns to the town with no money and no job and all the people against her until she meets Justino Briñón, who gives her a job as the manager of his hotel. The series will go through her life in Trinidad, how she will try to recuperate her two sons from Doña Perfecta and demonstrate she is not a criminal.

La Viuda De Blanco really great Telenovela!!!
user-1161811 October 2006
My wife told there was a new Telenovela and if I would please watch one episode with her. I never watched Telenovelas before and never cared to. I did her the favor and watched the debut episode with her and have been hooked ever since. La Viuda De Blanco has a good storyline with excellent characters and wonderful actors to portray them.

The show's storyline is amazingly similar to my wife's life story. My wife is my step brother's widow, her children were wrongly taken from her by my step mother. My step mother runs a company and is mean and cruel like the character in the Telenovela.

The show is wonderful entertainment!

Not as good as the original but I liked it though

Warning: Spoilers
Okay, to be honest there's no way I would compare la Viuda De Blanco 1996 to la Viuda De Blanco 2006, because the original one is my all time favorite Telenovela ever, the best one I've ever seen in my whole life, I was totally crazy about it and still am. Alicia and Diego were my favorite characters of all time, there is no actress could do the lead character like maria Helena doering did, I'm a big fan of her and of course osvaldo rios and yolandita monge as well, the chemistry between them was out of this world and the Telenovela was a master hit. Besides, the 2 songs in that telenovela are amazing, heydee's song "tu tu tu tu" is my favorite Spanish song, it makes me cry because it reminds me of her death every time I listen to it, as for the second song which is the theme song; the duet between osvaldo rios and yolandita "tu y yo" is one of the best too. If I could, I would've gave that Telenovela 100 out of 100.

As for the new version of 2006, at first I thought it was terrible, but then I completely changed my mind, it was really good, I really liked it, the two lead actors were great, it was well made, it was just that the original was like a part of my childhood, to me it was precious, so it was difficult at first to see another telenovela with the same title and the same story but with different actors, but to be honest it was good. I loved the new characters, Alicia and Sebastian, Dimas, Haydee and the twins. all of them were great, I watched it several times and I never got bored from the beautiful scenes between Alicia and Sebastian, the passion was good ......so I recommend everyone to see it, even if you saw the original one don't hesitate to see this one, cause it's really worth watching.
