An Audience with Joan Rivers
jboothmillard9 July 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoy many of the comedy based An Audience with programmes, and I forget that the star of the show here had done it once before (so it technically should be called Another Audience with), and I was very intrigued to see her stuff properly. American comedian and actress Joan Rivers is one of the most outspoken, straight to point and almost no holds barred comedy stars of her generation. She is not afraid to be rude, outrageous and risky when it comes to what subjects she covers in her jokes, these include 9/11, homosexuality, plastic surgery and botox, opinions on celebrities she has met and seen in the media, her friends and family, and most prominently the suicide of her husband, which did have a sensitive outcome. It was nice for her to interact, talk to and of course take questions from members of the mostly famous members in the audience, and occasionally pick at them. Celebs in the audience that speak and you can spot include John Barrowman, Tony Blackburn, Lord Charles Brocket, Alan Carr, Nicki Chapman, Linford Christie, Ronnie Corbett, Antony Cotton, Jon Culshaw, 4 Poofs and a Piano, Vanessa Feltz, Christine and Neil Hamilton, Myleene Klass, Atomic Kitten's Liz McClarnon, Melinda Messenger, Wendi Peters, Esther Rantzen, The Bill's Ben Richards, Fay Ripley, Rowland Rivron, Peter Stringfellow, Claire Sweeney, Carol Thatcher, Rudolph Walker, Louis Walsh and Alan Whicker. Very good!

All that Joan!
MyMovieTVRomance23 March 2023
Amazingly, this special has rock n' roller Suzi Quatro in the audience- and she even asks a question! So, if it isn't enough that her name is Joan, here's Joan Rivers reminding me of Joan Jett by having JJ's biggest influence at the start of her career- Suzi Q- in the audience!

And to top it all off, Joan Rivers made some comments about rock stars during this special! Total surprise! Was NOT expecting this!! Yay for the Godwinks!!

Good show too. By the way, Joan Rivers had a goal to look like one of the Gabor sisters (Zsa Zsa or Eva), and I have to say she pretty much succeeded; here, she is every bit as glamorous, stylish, and beautiful as they were. All she's missing is the voice and the accent- but she had a rather iconic one of her own. Hooray for glamour! Brava, Ms. Rivers!
