- Donna Culver: How is it you always know exactly what to do to cause the most harm, and you always do it with such unerring instinct? If I didn't know better, I'd swear you made a pact with the Devil!
- J.R. Ewing: Are you trying to flatter me or insult me? I can't make out which.
- Donna Culver: I can promise you this: Dave and I are gonna take up where Cliff Barnes left off. We'll destroy you!
- J.R. Ewing: Oh, by the way, your wife is home.
- Bobby Ewing: Already?
- J.R. Ewing: Yeah.
- Bobby Ewing: You didn't happen to mention Jenna's name to her, did you? By accident of course.
- J.R. Ewing: Bobby, I'm sorry, I- I did let it slip.
- Bobby Ewing: Yeah. You know, you did a good day's work yesterday breaking up Donna and Ray. That should be enough for one week, don't you think? Even the Lord rested on the seventh day.
- [turns his back and enters the house]
- J.R. Ewing: Donna and Ray, huh...?
- [smiles contently, puts on his hat and walks to his car]
- J.R. Ewing: Sue Ellen, you're a drunk. And a tramp. And with your history there isn't a court in the State of Texas that would let you have him
- Sue Ellen Ewing: No... J.R., you can't be serious. You couldn't do that to me. You couldn't take my son.
- J.R. Ewing: My son.
- Miss Ellie Ewing: J.R., as far as you're concerned, the whole state of Texas could be a concrete slab. Including Southfork.
- [Jock laughs at this]
- Jenna Wade: Aren't you interested in keeping your husband? We're not schoolgirls, Pam. We both know that men like Bobby don't grow on trees.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: I don't have to listen to you lecturing me on the virtues of my husband!
- J.R. Ewing: [finds Pamela unpacking her suitcase] Couldn't wait to get back home?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [resigned] Hello, J.R.
- J.R. Ewing: Didn't you enjoy Harrison's company? He can be a real charmer when he wants to be. And I thought he'd done just about anything to please you.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Well, he is trying very hard to please somebody. What did you have to do with my getting that promotion?
- J.R. Ewing: What makes you think that I had anything to do with it?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Something that Harrison said this weekend. You made him send Liz Craig to Houston and give me her job, didn't you?
- J.R. Ewing: [smiles] Oh, Pamela, you have an exaggerated view of my power. I merely pointed out your... your many talents to him, that's all.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Why?
- J.R. Ewing: Well, I thought you looked... unhappy. Thought you needed something to distract you.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Well, how very kind of you.
- J.R. Ewing: Well, I thought so. And now that Bobby's found something to distract him, everything's worked out just perfectly, didn't it?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: Bobby?
- J.R. Ewing: Jenna Wade's back in town. Haven't you heard?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [coolly continues unpacking her clothes] If you're expecting hysteria, J.R., you're gonna be awfully disappointed. They're old friends. I don't see anything to be concerned about.
- J.R. Ewing: Then you don't know Jenna... or Bobby.
- [chuckles, leaves]
- Bobby Ewing: Pam... last night... I almost slept with Jenna. I didn't. But I wanted to. Doesn't that matter to you? Does anything matter to you anymore?
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: What stopped you?
- Bobby Ewing: I love you. And she knows it.
- [takes her by the shoulders]
- Bobby Ewing: Pam, I want to save our marriage, but I can't do it by myself. Now, you've gotta help me.
- Pamela Barnes Ewing: [tearfully] Bobby... I don't think I can.
- Donna Culver: You are the most stubborn man I ever met.
- [tender farewell kiss]
- Donna Culver: Goodbye.
- [at doorway, turns back:]
- Donna Culver: I love you.
- [as Ray looks at her wistfully:]
- Donna Culver: I'm sorry that's not enough.
