Simon Say No More
JordanThomasHall12 March 2018
Riley (Jackie Gleason) is upset that his daughter Babs (Gloria Winters) is seeing Simon Vanderhopper (Jimmy Lydon). He views Simon as a "lazy nothing" who reminds him off a mean boss he once had, and runs him off. Babs tells her dad that she never wants to speak to him again. Riley's friend and neighbor Jim Gillis (Sid Tomack) advises him to use reverse psychology and have Simon over so much that Babs will grow sick of him. When Simon reveals that he is a relative of Riley's old boss and inadvertently makes fun of him, Riley throws him out once again. Simon and Babs goes to Justice of the Peace Frank Ferrin (Frank Jaquet) in an attempt to sell greeting cards. Riley and Gillis are visited by Undertaker Digger O'Dell (John Brown, offering the droll puns on his profession that made him a beloved radio character). He explains that he saw Babs and Simon with a suitcase, making Riley think they are eloping. With comical misunderstandings, he prepares for one more encounter with Simon.

Not with my daughter
mitchrmp24 May 2014
Riley is just a bit obsessive when it comes to his teenage daughter and boys. He does not like her current beau, Simon, at all. Riley chases the boy off and forbids Babs from seeing him. Then upon advice from his best friend, he decides to give her so much of Simon that she gets sick of him. But the first time they get together, Simon's talking makes Riley so mad that he kicks him off.

Circumstances go from bad to worse and events lead Riley and Peg to some interesting conclusions. What follows is nothing short of hilarious! Again, this episodes leaves the audience in stitches.

In this episode, Gillis is playing checkers with Riley. Gillis is again winning.
