Sex & Nudity

  • Brenda gets suspicious of Richard and thus rifles through his stuff while he's gone. She then finds "Asian porn" on his computer and we see a photo of a completely nude woman (we see her from behind).
  • Nikki shows varying amounts of cleavage (sometimes a lot) in various outfits through the film. Other miscellaneous women do the same.
  • We see a view of Nikki lying down on the bed, talking on the phone, in a top and her panties (her face is closest to the camera).
  • The camera goes up Nikki's leg to her skirt-covered crotch (representing Richard's point of view).
  • We see Richard and Brenda in a lingerie store, where he holds a sexy pair of panties he wants her to buy, while she's getting some sensible ones. Nikki then walks up, holding some small and sexy ones she's buying.
  • We see a remembered or imagined bit about how Brenda viewed Richard before their marriage, where she says, "I can't wait to suck your d*ck" and then something nonsexual after they were married.
  • When Nikki asks for one-dollar bills, Richard jokes that he'll have to break into his stripper stash.
  • About going out with others, Richard complains that before they were married, they talked about sex, politics, and art, but don't do that now.
  • Richard stares at some cleavage, and slang terms are used for breasts, such as "t*ts" and "big ass village beaters."
  • About looking at mini-vans at an auto show, Richard complains that it's like going to a strip club and looking at the deejay.
  • We see Nikki in her bra as she changes clothes, but the top she puts on is open in the front, thus showing her bra and cleavage (in front of Richard).
  • Nikki suddenly and passionately kisses Richard in a cab, and he returns that for a moment, but then stops them.
  • Richard looks at a CD cover that sports a photo of a scantly clad woman (seen from a distance).
  • When Richard asks Nikki if she's ever thought of getting a skill, she replies she has them (with the inference being sexual).
  • After a bad episode with Viagra, Richard complains about women at a train station, stating one's a "slut" and another a "f*cking skank," but doesn't mind when another woman walks by in just a small bikini (showing a little bit of her lower bare butt in the small bikini bottom).
  • In marital therapy, Brenda admits that she and Richard still aren't having sex, with Richard saying that's okay (prompting the female therapist to write down that he's delusional).
  • Nikki says she wants to give Richard a proper good-bye (she's moving to California with her fiancé), so he goes to the store to buy condoms, but is embarrassed about doing so (with the middle-aged female clerk asking if he wants a 3-pack or a dozen and yelling out what he's buying when she needs change for his twenty dollar bill). She then yells out to another worker, "The man needs his condoms."
  • We hear the above song with the now altered lyrics that go, "I won't go get inside of you" (after Richard decides not to have sex with Nikki).
  • The camera focuses on a woman's bare butt as she walks past Richard.
  • Mainly sexual references. Girls in bra's. At the end a man takes off a girls panties but you see nothing.

Violence & Gore

  • Two men fight. Also you hear 2 gunshots.

Profanity

  • A courier sings along to some unheard music on his headset, including the lines "F*ck the crackers. F*ck the bitches" and the word "Nigger."
  • A song repeats the lyrics, "I wanna go get inside of you." We later hear the song with the now altered lyrics that go, "I won't go get inside of you" (after Richard decides not to have sex with Nikki).
  • A song had lyrics that we couldn't fully hear and/or understand, thus presenting the possibility of it containing objectionable material.
  • A song includes several uses of "ass."
  • A song has the possibly suggestive lyric of "The look of love, is in your eyes."
  • 65 "f" words (22 used sexually, 6 used with "mother"), 25 "s" words, 1 slang term each using male and female genitals ("d*ck" and "p*ssy"), 2 for breasts ("t*ts" and "big ass village beaters"), 12 asses (1 used with "hole"), 3 hells, 2 damns, 1 crap, 3 uses of "G-damn" and 1 use of "Oh my God."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • People have drinks in a club, including Richard. We later see him dancing with two women while holding a bottle of champagne, while one of those women is then seen holding the same. At the same time, Brenda is back home, upset with Richard having left, and she drinks wine.
  • Richard and another man comment about music disappearing from stores and that rap will soon only be available in liquor stores. The man then jokes about asking for a pint of Jack and Ja Rule.
  • The love interest of Chris Rock is smoking in virtually every scene. She excuses it by saying she "wants to lose weight". Definitely not a good example for a teenage girl.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • We see Richard and Brenda in marital therapy, where he isn't happy that they aren't having sex (he comments about that then, and later in voice-over narration). That also leads him to hang out with Nikki and think of and nearly have an affair with her.
  • Upset about a sexless marriage, Richard looks at many other women as sex objects.
  • none
