Hacker attempts to curtail the level of surveillance on UK citizens.
This is another interesting episode that covers a fairly complex and relevant topic in a humorous way.
The idea of mass surveillance is probably more emotive a subject now than ever given the technological advancements of the twenty-first century and the media focus on foreign/domestic terrorism. It is a brilliant subject the writers tackle with the notion of a character being completely unopposed to it until something happens that makes him see the other side of the argument.
As ever the most serious and important issues are tackled in a hilarious way by putting such entertaining characters as Jim Hacker and Sir Humphrey right in the centre of it.
Hacker's outrage at the notion of him being wiretapped whilst in bed with his wife is a great scene. I also love the scene with the special branch officer visiting him and his response to the opening of a champagne bottle is priceless.
Paul Eddington is superb in this episode.
8.5/10 for me but I round upwards.
