Melanie Chartoff's gymnast character Nadia Samara is an obvious nod to Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci, who won three Gold Medals at the 1976 Summer Olympic Games in Montreal, Canada, but made history by becoming the first gymnast to score a perfect 10.000 in Olympic competition, a feat she repeated six more times during the 1976 Games. The likelihood of achieving that perfect score was so remote that scoreboard manufacturer Omega SA had not programmed it to display a 10.0; it appeared as 1.00 instead.
Rick Springfield played the lead hero as private investigator Christopher Chance in the short lived 1992 action drama tv series "Human Target" based on the DC Comic book character.
