The Wild Wild Gordon
invisiblejones-124 April 2018
With Jim out of the picture early on, this becomes the Artemus Gordon show. Riffing on Shelley's Frankenstein theme, the writer's give Artie his long overdue share of action, including getting the girl (kind of...no spoilers here). Of course, James returns for the final fight, but it's nice to see Mr. Gordon get some of the limelight. And Dr. Faustina's lab is pure 60s kitsch (that's a good thing).

Mary Shelley's Story Gets Wild West West Spin
DKosty12322 April 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is a version of Frankenstein hidden with in Wild Wild West plot. Only Dr. Frankenstein is a woman, and she is creating monsters with bombs planted in them and aiming them at President Grant and other important people. First Dr. Faustina capture West & makes a clone of him which just misses killing President Grant when West explodes more than his usual active self.

It is set in New Orlens and there are plenty of fireworks. Dr Faustina captures Artemis and creates a double of him with a planted bomb. Then she sends him out to kill Grant and his cabinet in a meeting on Canal street. In all a pretty decent idea for an episode.

The lab sequences are pretty much done the same as Frankenstein and the assistant is pretty much an Igor clone.

Nice change of pace

Warning: Spoilers
Part Frankenstein story, part murder mystery, part love story. I liked the focus on Artemus for a change, giving him a chance to display his fighting abilities as well as a romantic involvement. I realized immediately that there was a West double involved.
