Chris Noel was known as the "Voice of Vietnam" and hosted the radio program 'A Date with Chris', one of the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service's most popular shows. Noel had just returned from a two-week trip to Vietnam over the holidays, a country she toured eight times during the War, including twice with Bob Hope.
Mystery Guest Tony Randall was introduced to the audience as a "New Recording Star". He had recently released an album that he produced and recorded with 1930s songs called "Vo Vo De Oh Doe" (1967). It was inspired by (and covered) 'The New Vaudeville Band's one-hit wonder, "Winchester Cathedral".
