The first 15 episodes of season four were mostly just fine but season four ran into problems with episode 16: The Lobster Man. A spacecraft lands on earth, it contains The Lobster Man, he is placed on Seaview, and it is unclear if he comes in peace.
The creature costume for this hour ranks as my least favourite costume ever created for Voyage/Sea! Why is his face visible? Lost In Space did this with The Carrot Man costume, his face was also visible, and Lost In Space was forever trashed for creating such a costume!
The Lobster Man is worth watching for the okay storyline and the action packed teaser when the spacecraft lands on earth and almost collides with the Seaview. Also, a lot of the music was lifted from the Leith Stevens score for A Time To Die...great music!
Too much footage of Basehart having conversations with a Lobster means this hour can't be called a classic, but the episode could be worse.
