The heartbeat of the whale, as heard repeatedly, is far too fast. The average hear rate of a sperm whale is about 6 beats per minute. A whale double that size should have an even lower heart rate.
At almost 38 minutes into the episode the flashing lighted panels on the wall of the control room were not turned on until Captain Crane entered the room. They are ordinarily always lit, but obviously this time the person responsible forgot to turn them on until Captain Crane came in and they turned the lights on.
