The Virginian continued its string of outstanding guest stars with the appearance of Barry Sullivan. Here Sullivan plays an old, old friend of Judge Garth, and bears a grudge for a tragedy which occurred as they came west. In fact, he could well have been Garth's partner in all the Judge achieved at Shiloh.
As with the first episode, he and two friends ... all recently released convicts ... don't make their intentions clear for a long while, but their creepy presence sets everyone on edge.
The Virginian started to pick up younger fans when Encore Westerns put it on their daily schedule thirteen years ago, and now it's apparently streaming and picking up even more recent attention. I'm glad to see that, as it's an excellent series.
