The title is based on the song "The Girl That I Marry" from "Annie Get Your Gun" by Irving Berlin. The musical opened at the Imperial Theater on May 16, 1946 starring Ethel Merman and Ray Middleton and ran for 1,147 performances.
"Song of the Younger World" takes place in 1916.
Tanner and Amy use the classic Chinese Taoist divination text "I Ching" to transport themselves to the Younger World.
This is the final episode to feature more than one segment. From The Curious Case of Edgar Witherspoon (1988) onwards, every episode consists of one 25 minute story.
"The Girl I Married" has no opening narration.
