  Ike Collins : Oh come Hoby you're not going to stake us out and hitch us up to the wheels again are ya? I've been hitched to this wheel so often that I'm beginning to feel like a horse!

  Hoby Gilman : You're beginning to look like one too good night gentlemen

  Travis : What girl?

  Hoby Gilman : The girl back there that I'm taking to the state prison. She says you're out to kill her, for shooting your brother.

  Travis : Do I look like a murderer?

  Hoby Gilman : Well what's a murderer look like?

  Travis : Maybe just like the girl you just mentioned

  Hoby Gilman : San Sabas 20 miles from here... . we're not going to make it tonight but you could make it in a couple of hours

  Travis : Well, I'm in no hurry

  Hoby Gilman : I would feel a whole lot better if you would just ride into town

  Travis : Do you own this road?

  Travis : Then don't try to tell me what to do

• Hoby Gilman : [Dozing off while in stake out, Hoby is awaking by a noise made by Abby]  what are you doing here?

  Abby Lindon : You didn't lock me up in my bunk tonight

  Hoby Gilman : I wasn't going to tie you down to be a Sitting Duck

  Abby Lindon : Maybe you'd rather have me walk around so I can get shot at first!

  Hoby Gilman : Maybe you would like to tell me, where the money is at?

  Abby Lindon : Let's Make a Deal

  Hoby Gilman : What am I offering?

  Abby Lindon : [Tries to look sexy]  why don't you take a good look in broad daylight

  Hoby Gilman : I already have , what else?

  Abby Lindon : Half the money

  Hoby Gilman : I need it all if I'm going to make the deal I want to make

  Abby Lindon : You mean what Travis? The money is not all he wants, he wants to see me dead along with Ike, Elijah and Hars!

  Hoby Gilman : In some ways, I can't says I blame him!

  Abby Lindon : [Shocked]  what do you mean to do? Let us all stay here and get killed?

  Hoby Gilman : What I mean to do is make sure you all get to prison!

• Travis : [Shoots a warning shot]  Gilman! I don't want any trouble with the law, all I want is justice!

  Dutchy Hoffman : They were too far away for me to get a good look at them but it looks like the two friends he came back with our Comanches!

  Hoby Gilman : All you got to do to hire them is promised them a scalp

  Dutchy Hoffman : Well we got three of them on here that I would put on the market and I would throw in a Squaw to boot!

  Ike Collins : You wouldn't sell us to the Indians would ya?

  Dutchy Hoffman : It be getting cheated but if they want to trade I'm willing!

• Travis : Gilman! Can you hear me Gilman?

  Hoby Gilman : I hearya!

  Travis : Send your prisoners out! You can have them back tomorrow

  Ike Collins : [Nervous and scared]  You wouldn't do that Hoby? you wouldn't do that to a friend?

  Hoby Gilman : I wasn't the one that double-crossed his brother and then killed them afterwards

  Ike Collins : Hoby? The law says you got to protect me until you get me to prison! That's what you're getting paid for!

  Dutchy Hoffman : Maybe you ought to talk to me I'm getting paid to drive a team not to be getting shot at!

• Dutchy Hoffman : [Referring to Travis]  well it looks like you've run him off for good, there hasn't been a sign of him since morning

  Hoby Gilman : He'll be back

  Dutchy Hoffman : Now why would he? He said he didn't want any trouble with the law

  Hoby Gilman : Sometimes a man goes crazy and that's when he gets an idea fixed in his head

  Dutchy Hoffman : He could have shot you in the back before this

  Hoby Gilman : He can always change his mind

  Dutchy Hoffman : [Nervously changes the subject]  you ever been to St Louis?

  Hoby Gilman : Once, a long time ago

  Dutchy Hoffman : It's a good town, right now, I wish I had never left it

  Hoby Gilman : That's one thing we see eye-to-eye on

  Dutchy Hoffman : You want me to take the First Watch?

  Hoby Gilman : You're only getting paid the drive the team

  Dutchy Hoffman : I ain't doing it for you! The way I got it figured it is I got to keep you rested up for self-protection!

  [Hoby laughs]
