Irwin Allen directed The Lost World (1960) (based on the Arthur Conan Doyle novel), and on numerous occasions used the movie as a source of stock dinosaur footage for the TV shows he produced. In addition to "The Time Tunnel: Chase Through Time," recycled footage from the film appears in Turn Back the Clock (1964), Terror on Dinosaur Island (1965), and Graveyard of Fools (1970). Vitina Marcus plays a variation of her Lost World role as a primitive woman in "Turn Back the Clock," and plays a woman from the future in "Chase Through Time."
Seen at about 46 minutes, the instrument below the CRT screen labeled "Electrograph" is actually an EICO model 377 sine/square wave audio generator which is used for servicing high fidelity amplifiers, tape recorders, etc. These were sold as kits for the hobbyist by the Electronic Instrument Corp. of Brooklyn, NY.
The initial scene of Doug and Tony arriving in the prehistoric era is lifted from the unaired version of the original pilot.
