Probably the best known episode of Sykes and the only one that gets repeated by the BBC.
All because of an all star guest appearance by Peter Sellers.
Eric complains about being bored. Everyday is the same well not this day.
In comes Tommy Grando a long lost childhood friend of the twins. He looks like a man who has escaped from prison.
Tommy has come to claim Hattie as his bride and he ain't going to take no for an answer.
This is really a tour de force from Peter Sellers. I actually wondered if he was ad libbing or if this was all scripted.
Eric Sykes seems to be corpsing all the way through and there are even shots of Hattie Jacques doing the same.
There is a scene in a department store when Eric goes to get a dress and causes mayhem. I think it is just Eric Sykes making a point to Peter Sellers that he can hold his own when it comes to comedy.
Undoubtedly a classic episode and Peter Sellers is on inspired form. He might had been mad as a box of frogs. Here Sellers shows why he is a bona fide comedy legend.
