- Lois Lane: [LexCorp unveils the prototype battle suit] Trying to put the Man of Steel out of business, Lex?
- Lex Luthor: I would think, Ms. Lane, that with your knack for getting into trouble, you'd appreciate a few extra rescuers.
- [laughter]
- Clark Kent: Touche.
- Lois Lane: Whose side are you on?
- Lex Luthor: What is it?
- Maggie Sawyer: A five-alarm fire at Cooper Towers. There are civilians trapped on the roof.
- Lex Luthor: Ah. An excellent opportunity to test the prototype in action.
- Maggie Sawyer: Fighting fires is hardly in the S.C.U.'s jurisdiction.
- Lex Luthor: But saving lives is.
- John Henry Irons: [Mills is in the hospital] He's still in withdrawal from the suit. The doctor said it'll take a while, but he should recover completely. The suit seemed like such a good idea.
- Superman: It still is, if someone can find a way to make it work safely. It'd be nice to have a little help for a change.
- John Henry Irons: I warned Luthor this might happen. Mills isn't wearing the suit, he's become the suit. Taking it away from him is like removing an arm. He'll never give it up.
- Superman: Does it have a kill switch?
- John Henry Irons: There's a jamming device. Attach it to the suit, and it'll scramble the neuroconnections, paralyze him.
- Superman: Where's the device?
- John Henry Irons: Where else? Luthor's pocket.
- Lex Luthor: [thinking that Mills is unconscious, Lex pulls out his phone] Get me Security. Yes, there's some garbage that needs to be disposed of.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: [crushing Lex's phone] It's been recycled.
- Trish Mills: Corey, you're on TV again.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: Yeah? How does it feel to have a famous husband?
- Trish Mills: You're so strong in that suit. Don't you think you should be more careful? Not so violent?
- Sgt. Corey Mills: Look, I'm doing a great job for the city. Why can't you just appreciate that?
- Trish Mills: I know, but...
- Sgt. Corey Mills: [she gasps upon seeing he's shaved his head] It's better for the suit. Makes the contact points static-free.
- Trish Mills: That's just great. You could've at least prepared me.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: What do you want? It's my job. What's that?
- Trish Mills: Brochures, for our vacation.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: Forget it. I can't go now, not when I'm getting used to the suit.
- Trish Mills: This is becoming an obsession.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: You don't understand, Trish. You don't know how it feels; the rush, the power. It's so... so perfect. And every day, we get stronger and stronger.
- Trish Mills: We, Corey? We? You talk as if that thing were a person. Oh, god, what's happening to you?
- Sgt. Corey Mills: Nothing, baby. Nothing. It's just the excitement of it, that's all. Really.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: [at a chop shop] Business is closed.
- [a thug fires his weapon, but the bullets ricochet off the suit]
- Sgt. Corey Mills: I was hoping you'd do that.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: Guess we're working together on this one, huh?
- Superman: Happy to have an extra hand.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: [seeing the civilians in need of help] I'll start with the ones on the right.
- Superman: No time. That roof is gonna collapse.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: [scanning it with his helmet] You're right. The suit's feeding me options.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: [demonstrating the LexCorp battle suit's capabilities] The Series Alpha police battle suit is a totally self-contained fighting machine. In addition to being virtually invulnerable, it sports a powerful cache of weapons, including black-light lasers... an impact grenade launcher... jet packs for flight... infrared scopes for night vision...
- John Henry Irons: [quietly to Lex] Lex, this is a mistake. It's too soon.
- Lex Luthor: There is a time and a place for dissension, Mr. Irons, but never with me.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: ...and the agility and strength of 20 men.
- Superman: Impressive handshake.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: I was hoping you'd notice.
- Trish Mills: Honey, you were wonderful.
- Lois Lane: Looks like he's got them in the palm of his hand.
- Superman: They'd better be careful he doesn't make a fist.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: You should've stayed away, Superman. The suit and I grow stronger by the second. Not even you can stop us. You'll never take it away! Never!
- John Henry Irons: But, Lex, this goes way beyond biofeedback. This man's entire nervous system is integrated into the suit. We've got to consider the psychological effects, the aggression factor.
- Lex Luthor: *If* there are problems, we'll deal with them as they arise.
- John Henry Irons: That's not how I operate.
- Lex Luthor: Oh, yes, it is. You work for me, remember?
- John Henry Irons: [setting his ID badge on the desk] Not anymore.
- Maggie Sawyer: Sgt. Mills remains on medical leave pending an investigation. Until then, the suit will be off-limits to all personnel.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: [watching on TV] Noooo! The suit is mine! We belong together! They can't just take it away from me!
- Trish Mills: [he flips a side table over into the TV] Corey!
- Sgt. Corey Mills: They can't.
- Lex Luthor: The LexCorp police battle suit is the last word in law enforcement. Once the Metropolis city council approves the prototype, LexCorp is prepared to build enough suits to create a police force where each individual officer is as efficient as Superman.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: What do you think you're doin'?
- Superman: What do you think *you're* doing?
- Maggie Sawyer: [approaching in a squad car] Mills!
- Sgt. Corey Mills: He's interfering with police business, Inspector.
- Maggie Sawyer: Yeah? Well, maybe you'd better explain this "police business" right now.
- Lex Luthor: Something I can do for you, Sgt. Mills?
- Sgt. Corey Mills: They're after me.
- Lex Luthor: Who?
- Sgt. Corey Mills: Who? Superman, the S.C.U. Everybody! They want the suit, but they can't have it. I need it. I have a purpose.
- Lex Luthor: Of course you do. If you remember, I created that purpose.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: Then you can explain it to them. You can make them understand.
- Lex Luthor: Of course I can. We'll go see them together and straighten this all out. There's no problem I can't solve.
- [he inserts a jamming device into a hole in the suit, which paralyzes Mills]
- Lex Luthor: See? Problem solved.
- Sgt. Corey Mills: You're just like all the other scum in this town, Luthor; always pickin' on the little guy. How does it feel to be on the receiving end?
