I am a Veteran, who has worked with Bad Vets, and even with Law Enforcement. Most Occupations have those bad "Supervisors" who are good with playing Politics to move up. Sadly, Politics may have been the Cause of Bad Officers being protected by the Blue Line which may have had "Politics" be a main factor that this happening. As in the Show, there are those supervisors who go up in the hierarchy because they would not last long with those who are good in the Field which in any Occupation happens. I have seen because a "Actual Politician" trying to make something happen via their "Power" cause missions, and people lose their jobs, or their lives because Politicians push things they should have stayed out of. I am sure each Law Enforcement group have a "Blue Line" where they have become a Protected group even those of poor Character. Just like many young people join gangs, it is the same Officers & Agents go Blue Line and it also becomes Political only to protect each other from actual Politics. I believe we have Bad People that should not be in Law Enforcement. Many "Cop" shows show how Cops should be; like Sue Thomas, NCIS (all 3?) Dragnet of the 50s-70s, Highway Patrol, Adam12, Todays SWAT, Hawaii 5-0, etc. These shows also showed some Bad Cops, etc, but how the good cops fixed it. Most don't know that the WW2 Movie of 12 oclock High was a Training Movie about Leadership for the Military. Sadly, most "Actors" today want too much $$$ to do training videos. BUT back to the "Politics" today we are seeing both sides of the Extreme r/t Politics trying to "Fix" Law Enforcement. Back in the day of pre 90s Law Enforcement and Communities worked together instead of fighting each other. Those Communities should have people that are Angry with the Cops, but also people who have been helped and even saved by the Law Enforcement. Even have Teenagers, and Elderly. Each Community start with fixing that Community. Also discuss the Laws that Protect those Cops / Agents with the Law Enforcement then send up what is and is not working to the State level. Plus recommend Civilians and Officers who might be useful at the State Level. Then go to Region, then National. Each State has "Federal" Law Enforcement which needs slightly different guidelines and Discussions but do the Same. This is a Great Episode to possibly look into the misuse of "Politics" r/t causing the Need of Law Enforcement taking a Page out of Gangs r/t protecting themselves. These community groups also need to recommend laws r/t Politicians misusing their powers where Law Enforcement personnel need to do that Buffalo Circle of Protection because they might not feel protected by the Politicians in the Job, and the Real Politicians. Maybe instead of ride alongs with cops, have the cops have to do (Out of Uniform) spend time with the Community especially with the Teens, and the Elderly. Not with those who might be trying to make a name (playing politics) for themselves.
