First Encounter
claudio_carvalho6 July 2015
General Hammond sends a probe to Cimmeria and the SG-1 receives a request for help from Gairwyn. They realize that the destruction of Thor's Hammer to save Teal'c has made the planet vulnerable to the Goa'uld invasion and they feel responsible for fate of the people. They decide to return to help the locals and Daniel, Samantha and Gairwyn have an encounter with Thor.

"Thor's Chariot" is a good story and the first encounter between humans and Gods. Thor's real appearance is a great surprise and the special effects are very good. My vote is eight.

an important episode

Warning: Spoilers
Like I said in the previous episode. Stargate actually gets a storyline. This time the team returns to Cimmeria. The planet were it all started for Teal'c. By destroying Thor's hammer they could save Teal'c. But by doing so they also without knowing destroyed the planet. The Goa'ulds invaded the planet. What we do have in this episode is also the return of a character seen earlier, Gairwyn.

But what this episode especially does is having some really great effects and a great storyline in which a lot is explained about the Gods. And we do see space ships here and there. But not only that the SG-1 team do has to save themselves by questions asked by Thor who shows his real face this time. This episode do shows a lot on part of the effects and on the story of the Goa'ulds and the Gods. You can't miss this episode to move further in the story.

Pi

Yeah...Pi is the Diameter to the circumference, not the radius to the circumference. Usual good stuff from SG1 otherwise.

What a mighty entry

This episode is a turning point for sg-1. Well made, well thought out episode where we finally see one of the most advanced race "enter the game" after so much time of keeping busy with the scavenger goualds. Sure we met the Nox and the Nollan. But those always kept to themselves. This shifts sg-1 into second gear. The universe just got a lot bigger.

Other then that, you have to love the look the Asgard were given by the producers. Keeping in theme with "what if it happened today" and not 2300, their look makes sense. Also their intelligence, curiosity and power. I wish there were a whole lot more episodes in this theme instead of the gouald.

Thor... is that you?

Decent episode throwing it back to a world visited in season one and following up on the same storyline. Some good action moments and one strange revelation.
