When Dr. Axelrod notes that the new security cameras will be watching "every move you make, every step you take" and Nurse Rosenthal replies, "yes, like the police," it's a reference to the Police song of the same name (and one of many pop-music references woven into the show's dialogue in later seasons).
As Dr. Ehrlich and his wife, Lucy, enter a crowded elevator, Ehrlich says "Miss Redding hold that Otis. I know it's close, but try a little tenderness." This is a homage to singer/songwriter, Otis Redding and his famous song "Try A Little Tenderness." (Incidentally, Elisha Otis invented the safety elevator in 1852.)
Ellen says Dr. Gideon's secretary looks at her like she's Hester Prynne, so she enters his office through the back. Prynne is an adulteress and one of the leading characters in Nathaniel Hawthorne's novel "The Scarlet Letter".
Per the title, after going though several edited versions, the last one is call the final cut.
