This show begins with a cult-like crew member getting his three minions to try everything they can to get the Moonbase to do nothing when there is a pending collision with a planet. While the planet clearly has a toxic atmosphere and cannot support life, this nutty guy insists that the crew should do nothing--and everything will work out fine. But, common sense says that Koenig should order the atomic piles to be exploded in a last-minute effort to force the Moon on a different course. In the meantime, the plan is for all the crew members to wait in Eagles in space--waiting until after the explosions have occurred. However, the nutter and his minions have other plans--and it might just include killing Koenig and Maya and stopping the nuclear detonations...all for the good of Alpha as the cult-like guy insists that doing nothing is their best course of action...or 'inaction' in this case.
So is this a good episode of "Space: 1999"? Well, not really...but at least it's not a blatant rip-off of episodes from "Star Trek" and there is only one goofy-looking alien in the show (when Maya does one of her transformation). The main problem, however, is that it's not particularly interesting. However, in a strange but cute moment, you do get to see a 'Mini-Maya'--which you'll just have to see to believe.
