The weather is supposed to be rainy and dark, yet the scrub-desert is obviously dry and sunny, with lots of powdery dust kicked up as the plane rolls over it after landing.
The plane's cowl is open in the close-up shots as the plane is coming in to crash-land, yet in the wide-angle shots, the cowl is closed.
The senator's son lowers the landing gear, yet in the next shot of the plane approaching the camera, the wheels are still retracted.
The plane lands and the engine is shut down, showing an undamaged propeller, yet in the subsequent close-up shot of the prop, its tips are bent.
The senator closes the cowl most of the way just prior to landing, yet in the subsequent close-up shots, the cowl is obviously still fairly wide open.
When Steve asks the Senator if there's any sign of Air Rescue, an aircraft can be seen flying in the background.
The bent prop is obviously just a lightweight movie "prop", since it is wobbling loosely and flimsily, not constructed to be robustly stiff and rigid like a real propeller would be.
When discussing repairs to the crashed plane, the Senator says he can patch the severed oil line. But they have no way to replace the substantial amount of oil that was lost, nor do they discuss whether that loss had caused engine damage.
Possible explanation: The senator might likely have had a few spare cans of oil on board the plane, plus it wouldn't really make a difference if the engine was damaged or not, as long as it would run satisfactorily till they got back to the air base again.
Steve and Ed both state that "engine number four was out", yet the indicator-lights on the flight-simulator's instrument-panel show that engine #2 is the one that's not running.
