Watchable, buy way too ordinary

This one felt tired, and was not really that funny.

I'm watching this Simpsons season and Season 5 of Two and a Half Men on DVD with my cousin. Boy, so far I've enjoyed much more Charlie Sheen and company, and episodes like Insane Clown Puppy doesn't do much for the Simpsons cause. I've seen pretty much all of this Simpsons season on TV but just now I'm re-watching these episodes. So far, after re- watching the first two, Lisa the Tree Hugger and Homer vs. Dignity, I can easily say Insane Clown Puppy is my least favourite and a completely forgettable show.

Drew Barrymore voices Sophie, Krusty's daughter who here finally meets her father. Boy oh boy, it's the same old, tired story: at first Krusty ain't the father Sophie expected and wanted but soon he will gain her totally, only to lose her (thanks to an action that at first sight wasn't going to hurt her) and finally, and with the help of Homer, win her again.

Nothing very memorable… nevertheless, Stephen King was great: "So, Mr. King, what tale of horror and the macabre are you working on now?" "Oh, I don't feel like writing horror right now.I'm working on a biography of Benjamin Franklin. He discovered electricity and used it to torture small animals and green mountain men. And that key he tied to the end of a kite? It opened the gates of Hell!".

Incredible episode from the greatest era in Simpsons history

Season 10 - 14, nothing else comes remotely close.

  • Great story

  • Hilarious one-liners

  • A fantastic (criminally underused) new character introduced

  • Even a fantastic soundtrack!

All these elements make this one of the best episodes in an equally incredible season/era in Simpsons history, that will NEVER be replicated. End of story.

A so-so episode

Warning: Spoilers
I wouldn't say this is the best episode of the show.

It has its moments, but follows a formula we've seen covered lots of times before with the Homer/Lisa relationship, only this time it's Krusty and his daughter.

Season 12 got off to a decent start, but this is a fairly standard episode.
