Apu is in the doghouse and is trying to make it up to his wife. He goes to extravagant efforts to make up for past transgressions. Homer decides Apu is making all the husbands look bad and sets out to ruin his efforts with bar crowd. Things get crazy but they really aren't funny. I agree with the guy who pointed out that when a show deals with a holiday the writing gets weak. It is an animated show and it seems that most of what we see is cliched. It's really old time cartoon stuff that we've seen a hundred times. Of course, we know that Homer will land on his feet at the end (or his face). Just not up to what we expect.

This is the first true bad Simpsons episode. Why? Because it;s a tired plot from The Flintstones. That episode when Fred banged his head with a bowling ball and became a totally different person. He started being very romantic towards Wilma and then the whole male population of Bedrock was mad at him and chased him with clubs cause their wives were jealous. It's the same plot as here.
The only difference is that Fred = Apu. I must admit I'm a little biased too. I absolutely hate movies or episodes involving Valentine's day. Not a big fan of the romantic genre either.
I'm only about three and a half months older than The Simpsons, but I just discovered them two months ago. I'm already seeing season 10 and I have to agree with some of the other comments I've seen. This show is starting to go downhill fast.
