I don't know about this one

This one gave me the creeps. I didn't really care for the story line, but maybe that's just me. First of all, why did they call this man Tom when Marian's father-in-law's name is Tom? It's just a bit confusing...Second of all, why would a man who was evidently grounded in the Bible and church suddenly turn crazy just because his cattle are poisoned? I'm guessing he was schizo or something...

You can clearly see in this episode that Shane is definitely more than a hired hand. He plays a big part in bringing up Joey. When Joey wanted to stay the night, Joey asked Shane for permission, which Shane wouldn't give. You could tell he didn't agree with Tom's decision to let Joey stay, but he stayed silent on it because Tom was Joey's grandfather. Then later when Marion wanted to go visit Ada, Shane expressed his disapproval as did Tom.

Parts of the story line were interesting, but I didn't like how they portrayed Tom Gary. I felt it was a bit too far-fetched.
