The outtakes on the season 8 DVD set reveal a different eulogy that J. Peterman gave, which went unused in the final episode: "Susie was like a shining star that burned almost too bright. Like a flash bulb. You know, the ones that give you those little red eyes? That was Susie."
The song on George's (Jason Alexander) answering machine is a parody of The Greatest American Hero (1981)'s theme song, "Believe It or Not."
Peterman, describing his (imagined) sexual encounter with Susie, says "it was pretty good!" with an emphasis on "pretty." This phrase, with the same inflection, later became the catchphrase of Seinfeld co-creator Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000).
When Mike Moffit (Lee Arenberg) gets locked in Jerry's (Jerry Seinfeld) trunk, he misinterprets Jerry and Elaine's (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) conversation as a murderous plan. Later the next day, Elaine tells Peterman (John O'Hurley) that Susie took her own life; then the following day, Jerry and Elaine attend Susie's funeral, while Mike is still in the trunk, which means he's been in there for three days.
