Could have been better

20th century Saturday Night Live episodes were even more hit or miss than current episodes of the series. Unfortunately, this episode had more misses than hits. There were two skits from this episode worth watching. The Church Lady interview with Walter Payton and Joe Montana is one of the best Church Lady skits that SNL ever produced. I'd recommend any fan of the show watch this skit at least once. Second, there is a pretty good skit where Joe Montana and Phil Hartman are roommates. Also, the Adobe car skit was acceptable. The rest of the skits fell flat and couldn't engender a laugh. The Weekend Update skit disappointed greatly. There were a couple chuckles, but the jokes mostly fell flat. Also, many of the jokes in the Weekend Update skit were not socially acceptable by 2023 standards. To be honest, Dennis Miller was a pretty weak Weekend Update anchor during his tenure and isn't half the anchor that Colin Jost and Michael Che are. Overall, this episode still earns a 6/10 due to the Church Lady skit, Joe Montana roommate skit, and the respect that I have for Montana and Walter Payton.
