This is my second favorite episode of the show, I like that this is an episode that focused on the character Sponge whom I don't feel gets the spotlight enough, this episode I thought was a welcome change of pace.
Sponge is a sympathetic character as he is extremely nervous about this new venture he's about to undertake which is understandable we've all been there when it comes to dating. Despite his fright deep down he really wants to experience this. It's true that his first experience doing it wasn't great but that's doesn't mean it should be the end, the key is finding the courage to move on.
Really like how Pinsky is Sponge's wing man and is really giving him the support, he needs. He's says my favorite quote in the episode "You've got to get the cake out of your paints." Which is funny but true with all of us that had to live with a certain psychological dilemma, but the key is to always find a way past them.
The final half was a lot of fun and you can say is a lot better than a movie as it's real life. We see the kids have to play "Metal Gear Solid" against Ug whom unfortunately comes to the same movie theater they're in, makes me wonder if that's the only movie theater in town. It's really funny as their all finding different colorful places to hide, from the Girls Bathroom which Donkey Lips hides in along with Dina, it was really funny hearing Dina's reaction of fright and Donkey's reaction of amazement though he gets slapped by Dina despite the fact he really didn't see anything revealing. As well as Pinsky and his gf hiding behind a sombrero shaped couch and we hear the sombrero song playing as their hiding. But of course the best is with both Sponge and Helga whom are having a good time, and strangely are actually dating as both are interacting along the way, it was really funny and sweet when we see both have the same kind of inhaler and a calculator with them which shows how both are a good match together.
And of course, it comes down to the final moment which I won't say what happens but lets just say Sponge finally gets the cake out of his paints.
