The title comes from the line "Jack Frost nipping at your nose," from "The Christmas Song" or also known as "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" written by vocalist Mel Tormé and Robert Wells in 1944 and became a classic sung by Nat 'King' Cole.
The two elves, Powell and Pressburger, are named after English filmmakers Michael Powell (1905-1990) and Emeric Pressburger (1902-1988), together known as The Archers, who were responsible for making The Red Shoes, Black Narcissus, and a score of other important films.
